Merry Christmas.... To Me

It has finally arrived! I have been anxiously waiting for the Ipsy My Glam Bag and it has finally made its way to my mailbox. Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that (for ten dollars) sends you a cute little makeup bag filled with 4-5 deluxe-sized makeup samples and sometimes even full sized products. For about a month previous to subscribing to Ipsy I researched several companies that provided similar subscriptions. I decided to go with Ipsy and Loosebutton's Luxe Box (which I am expecting I will get tomorrow!) since they both seem to be well worth what you are paying for them.
ANYWAYS, on to what I recieved in my glam bag!

The first product that I recieved in my glam bag was Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil which is great because you can never have too many eyeliners. The full-size of this eyeliner is 0.04 oz while my sample of the product is 0.03 oz. UD's eye pencil sells for just over 23.00 so I am thrilled with this sample. I swatched it on my hand and noticed how smoothly it glides on which is always something I look for in an eyeliner.

The second product I recieved is the Mai Couture Highlighter Papier which I am kind of nervous to try but also very excited as I have only ever tried one highlighter before. This product is really interesting though because the highlighter comes in a little booklet of papers that you just kind of lightly blot onto your face. I just hope it doesnt end up being a sparkly mess! The full-size booklet contains 50 sheets (at a 28.00 value) while the sample I recieved contains 25 sheets which I think is amazing.

The third product I recieved was Mirabella's Face and Eye Primer. I've never really used a primer before but I am really interested in trying this one to see if primer is really worth the purchase. The primer that came in the Ipsy bag was actually a full-size product that is regular price 29.00... I'm just blown away by how much these products are worth when I have only spent 10.00 on ALL of them.. I just think its amazing.

The fourth product I recieved in my glam bag was the NYX Loose Shadow in Charcoal Pearl. Again, I'm kind of nervous about this product as for the application just because it is in such a small bottle.. I don't really know how I am going to get the shadow out of the bottle and onto my brush without making a mess. Anyways, I think this colour is perfect for a smokey eye and I'm really excited to see what it looks like when on. The 5 ml bottle of the NYX Loose Pearl Shadow (which is what I recieved) is worth 5.00.

The final product I recieved was the Be A Bombshell Lipgloss in the colour "Hot Mess" which is a really pretty bright red that's perfect for the season. I don't normally wear lip glosses but I think this will be really pretty over a red lipstick for something a little more bold or even on its own. Again, this is a full-size product at 14.00.

To sum up... I'm AMAZED with the products that I have recieved in the Ipsy My Glam Bag. I'd really recommend this subscription to anyone that is looking to subscribe to a beauty box/bag or really to anyone that is just looking to try something new makeup/beauty-wise. I'll be posting a look soon with all of the products I've recieved in my bag!

until laterr :)

makeover

Well hello,
This is my lovely sister Natasha :)
Every once and a while when she goes out I practically beg her to let me do her hair and makeup. Anyways this is the final we decided on tonight.
She is wearing Dior Addict Lip Stick in Positive Red which is a colour I really love and use often. Its really nice for this time of year especially and has little tiny flecks of gold which is really pretty.
I used a Sephora brand shadow palette (Taupe Model No. 6) on her eyes which is a palette I use pretty much  every day. It transitions really well, I use the lighter colours during the daytime for just a bit of shimmer but it also dark browns with flecks of silver that is perfect for an evening out.
The mascara I used on her eyes is L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes which I don't really like that much. It's nothing spectacular and I don't think I'll buy it again. I will however give it to my sister if she liked it. I don't quite think it meets the expectations set by its intense name.
I also used the Sephora brand sculpting disk on my sister which is probably one of my favourite things. I find it absolutely fantastic. In the sculpting disk there is a matte powder, a bronzing powder and a lovely highlighter (although I find that I have to be extra light when applying the highlighter). So that is the complete look (looking at the picture I noticed I failed on her right eye's eyeliner... woops - sorry tash. she still looks great though)
